I've been trying to look for a payday loan consolidation company when I ran into this website... Which I think is really a blessing, coz only then did I start looking into all the payday loans that I currently have. I've followed the link in one of the threads here and have found out that almost all my loans are not licensed in California. I've seen the sample letters that I may send to each pdl company, but I wanted to make sure that I actually did the research on these pdl correctly. Can someone please verify if these companies are legal or not in California:
Galaxy Marketing Inc
Loan Shop (online)
DMA Financial
Everest
500 Fast Cash
Cash Central
On the issue of closing my bank account, I am already in the ChexSystems, so it would make it almost impossible for me to be able to open a new account. I currently bank with Chase. Has anyone had any experience with them when requesting for a hard block (is that what you call it when you put a stop on certain ACH transactions).
I'm so tired of worrying about how I'm going to make it til next payday, only to end up having my next check wiped out by all these mistakes I've gotten myself into. PLEASE ADVICE!!!!!!! I really appreciate all the help that you can give me.

Welcome to the forums!!!
You should contact with the California Department of Corporations in order to know whether or not pdl companies are licensed in your state. Their contact detail is as follows:
# Address - Financial Services Division, 1515 K Street, Suite 200 Sacramento CA 95814
# Phone - (866) 275-2677

If they are not licensed, then you can get rid of the debts by paying them only the principal amount. If they are licensed, then you will be responsible for both the principal and interest. If you are in a financial crisis to payback your debts to the legal lenders in full, then you can get help from a professional debt relief company. all of your loans are illegal.therefore you only owe the principle, but better than that anything in"fees" or rollovers gets deducted from that.we need the following.

1)amount borrowed from each lender
2)amount debited by each lender thus far

you must close that account and open a new one not linked to the old one.the manager can help with this.see them in person only.blocks/stop payments don't work.please provide the info requested.we can help further from there.

I've been trying to figure out how I can fit the finance charges plus the additional amount I have to add in, in order to zero out these loans the fastest way, but I can't figure out how to juggle all of them. I was even trying to get a bigger loan but I just got myself into a tighter mess. Until I finally landed this website.

Everest - Amt borrowed: $300 Paid: $360
Galaxy - Amt borrowed: $300 Paid: $270
500Fast - Amt borrowed: $300 Paid: $270
Loan Shop - Amt borrowed: $500 Paid: $450
DMA - Amt Borrowed: $400 Paid: $240
Cash Central - Amt Borrowed: $255 Paid: $45

Thank you so much for your help!!!

I agree with paulmergel. All of your lenders are illegal. So you are required to pay them only the principal amount. As you have paid more than the principal to Everest, then you should ask them for the refund. Illegal lenders won???t be able to take any legal action against you. To know how to deal with illegal lenders, glance through the following link:

bottom dollar payday online loaned me $400. I have paid over $600 in biweekly loan fees so far. My hours were cut back at work and I am drowning right now in debt and havent been able to pay on the principle. this is making me miss credit card payments, too. I was doing research for help with my debt and stumbled on this wonderful site! Thanks in advance for any help given!!!

First you need to close your checking account and get a new one.

Bottom Dollar is not licensed to lend in CA. You should only repay the principal amount of the loan, which you've already overpaid by $200. They owe you a refund of that overpayment and you should ask for it when you send them notification.

Hi,
First off, since you are in Chexsystems, there are some banks in California where you can still get a checking account. Try Union Bank of California, where you can get an ATM-based account. It's deposit only by direct deposit with ATM access only. No checks are available, but this will be a good thing if you're trying to get out of the PDL mess.

I was able to put a freeze on my bank account 2 weeks ago, and Chase was nice enough to open a new account for me. Due to all these payday loan applications I did a couple of months ago, a transaction of $94.49 was taken out of my account (which Chase said it was some kind of subscription from these pdls... omg!), which I reported as unauthorized. So they did a "compromised block" on my account. My personal banker filled out a form stating what I reported, so nothing goes in or out of my account right now; cancelled my direct deposit as well. My next pdl deductions are due on Monday, and I'm starting to get nervous because the phone (for sure) will start ringing off the hook. I'm getting ready to send out letters, but with all the reading that I've done through this site, I've learned that these pdl's do not really care whether you send them a "Cease & Desist" letter... they'll still be harassing you regardless.

Among all the payday loans i have, only Cash Central is legal, so I've kept a really good relationship with them. I will update, and for sure will be needing more advice after i receive responses from the pdls.

Thank you for all the help!!!
