Good Afternoon, I want to first say that I am new here and have found the information you have listed extremely helpful. Thank you to all that contribute your time to help others.

With that being said, I like a lot of people on here fell into the PDL trap. I thought everything was going to be ok and that I could handle it and before I knew it, I had 5 different loans from different companies. I want to take care of my obligations, but am really struggling with these loans as it takes just about all of my paycheck every 2 weeks. Below is the information on the loans that I have:

Gentle Breeze
Loan: $350
Paid: $394.92

Dash of Cash
Loan: $500
Paid: $600

American Web Loan
Loan: $700
Paid: $2793.00

Cover Me Cash
Loan: $400
Paid: $300

Lend Me Now
Loan: $500
Paid: $225

As you can see I have paid / overpaid the principal on 3 of the 5 loans. I did try to look these lenders up to see if they are legal and it is not showing as any of them having a license in IL. So, I guess I am wondering if the "sticky" on how to go about revoking withdrawals and wage garnishments is still accurate? I am also curious if any other community members have dealt with any of the above lenders and if so have you had success?

Thank you for your time and input.

Just to be on the safe side, I would contact the Illinois Division of Financial Instution to verify that all are illegal. If that is the case, follow the instructions on how to deal with illegal lenders. Your first priority would be to close your current checking account, open a new one, not connected in any way to the old. Follow the steps exactly as they appear. Do not skip. Personally, I have had not dealt with any of the lenders mentioned. Keep in touch and let us know how things are going.

Here is the response I received from Dash of Cash:

Dear,
I do hear your concerns and would like to let you know that your loan agreement with Dash of Cash is governed by "Common Law". The terms of the loan were presented to you when your loan was approved and funded and you electronically signed the loan document agreeing with these terms. The Dash of Cash loan agreement and website contain all disclosures required by federal & international law. The loan agreement is legal and enforceable.
However, we are always willing to work with our customer to help you meet your repayment requirements and we have options available to help you through a financial difficulty.
Sincerely
DashofCash

I am not sure how I should respond to this? Any suggestions?

Just a bunchof hot air and this is their scare tactic. They are illegal in every way and they know it. Respond that you know they are illegal and you are demanding a refund and they to pay it on your terms. Slim chance you will receive one. They will respond similarly and after a time or two simply ignore them and move on.

Thank you for your response. I did double check with the Illinois Department of Financial Institutions and none of them are licensed in the state of Illinois. I also went and spoke to my bank today. Unfortunately because I have direct deposit that is supposed to come in on Friday they said I should wait to close it, but did put a hard hold on it for now and told me to come back as soon as I can on Friday to get the account closed. I do have to say, that I was very nervous to go and talk to my bank. The gentleman that I spoke with was extremely helpful. I felt much better after meeting with him. I have also sent all the letters out. I will post an update when I have one.
