DO NOT DELETE THAT EMAIL!
I see a lot of legal violations...threatening jail, using the term "legal advisor"...that would to some imply that he is impersonating an attorney.
What is the name of the company sending you this? Quite frankly I would be reporting this to your local police department, AG's office, FTC and your state Bar association since this person is probably "legal advising" without a license.
What state do you live in??
yes,but
this might be generated from out of the country.i noticed a few people stating the same thing.the threats, and outrageous amount are in line with them as since the FTC is investigating the scam in INDIA people are getting these emails instead of phone calls.do file the police report and FTC complaint with that forwarded to them.just know this is complete BS and as SOAPLADY stated.if the idiot is in the states he would be in a world of trouble.

This sounds like an email version of the phone calls I sometimes get. It's always someone with an Indian accent, they never specify what company they're with or who they're calling on behalf of but say that it's an urgent matter and I need to call back or have my legal representative call back and I will regret it if the situation totally unfolds around me. It's pretty obvious that they're reading a script. The research that I've done says that scam artists get people's information from Teletrack and if they have outstanding or deliquent PDLs they initiate contact and start threatening people with arrest, etc. This is most definitely not legit and you need to file complaints/reports with everyone you can.
What's this
Thanks for the validation for my instinct this was illegal.
I live in Indiana. It is quite an email and scary unless it is a scam.
He just states it is a claim from "Payday Cash". There isn't a letter head or a firm he is from. The email is from Alan Peter.
Thanks again!
