i have several internet payday loans that I am unable to pay. I am considering closing my checking account and then try to pay them off at a rate I can afford, but I am concerned about whether I would be breaking the law and don't want to get into more trouble. I have Mass Street Group and Seven Group which I owe 300 each to, Dollar Flash 600, Speedy Cash and Cash Central. I also have some in person ones including Check N. Go and Advance America. I just can't get out of this cycle and need some advice. I know I need to pay back what I borrowed, but the interest is killing me.

The first question is: Which state are you from? The answer to this will solve a lot of other questions.

Mass Street, Seven Group and Dollar flash are illegal lenders in most states. Speedy Cash, Advance America, Cash Central, ChecknGo are legal lenders (some of them are CSOs or CABs)

I live in Rhode Island and want to know what my options are if these lenders are illegal, Dollar Flash, Mass Street Group, Seven Group. I borrowed 300 from Mass St and Seven Group and have already paid back at least $270, maybe $360. Dollar Flash I have paid $225 interest, $100 payment on principal and will pay another $180 in interest. The total loan was $700.
