Hi there~
I have tried to register but haven't received the email with password and I am very desperate at this point.
I live in California and have a few payday loans that were taken out over the last few months. The first was with a company named Anasazi group, the next with VIP Cash and one with SGQ Processing.
I actually had to close my account with my bank due to other lenders going in and depositing money- which I returned- this is total nightmere.
Anyhow I need advice or a way to get a hold of VIP Cash- I have no phone number, no loan documents and no address, I had done business with them back in 2006 and thought they were still located in Las Vegas but the certified letter I sent to thier 1700 E Desert Inn address was returned unable to forward. I also contacted my bank and they were unable to come up with a number for the company- only that the attempted withdrawal was originated through All Cities Bank at 813-949-1878 with company code of 1880372884. My original loan was for $300 I have paid back $193.00 and just want to pay off the remaining balance as I now know they are not legally allowed to to business in California.
The major problem is the loan with Anasazi group- I did take out a $300 loan with them, but was unable to pay it back due to the freeze on my account- I contacted regarding this via email as I had no phone number- they said I would have to wait for it to go to collections- which apparently it did and was sent to NCA at 866-660-1626- I called them and they said they sold it to some company named debt collectors. Here's where my problem comes in about two weeks ago some man named Victor Royce called my home, work and brother leaving the same message at all three places that he was calling to verify information on me as there was a complaint filed with contra costa county and before the suit proceeds he needs to verify this info. He also leaves the number of the plantiff which is 855-210-0470. I call and find out it's some company named FS group- they say I owe $1200 and need to pay immediately - when I ask what it is regarding they say a $300 loan taken out in May from Anasazi group. Because I know a little about the FDCPA I ask for them to send me proof and they state they don't have to as they are a law firm and it is considered proof in a lawsuit and they can't release it until I pay off the debt. I play dumb and say I know nothing about the debt and will not pay that kind of money until I have proof- they then say if I pay $600 broken down over two payments they will send me the proof once paid and then it will be my repsonsibility to go after whoever owes the debt to me. I also bring up the fact that they have violated my rights by leaving that sort of information on a VM with third parties and work and they tell me that they can as they are a law firm and it will soon be public record. They also say if I fail to agree to the terms they will keep calling my work- well here's the problem I work for a Gov't facility all calls are recorded and my clearance is on the line. I am fine paying the $300 owed, but $600 no way but I am so fearful for my job I agreed and gave them my credit card. Now I am freaking out because my husband thinks they will just keep scamming us for money- the first payment is due friday. I also asked for an address or email so I could send a letter to confirm no phone calls but they refused and said I would have to take their word for it. I have filed a complaint with the CA Attorney General and the FTC and come to find out Anasazi is not licensed in CA either- like I said I owe them $300 and would pay it but I don't want to pay $600 and am wondering if I should block my Credit Card. I did get some sort of confirmation email from FS group for the payment of $300 on Friday and another $300 on August 17, but it came from a company named Alliance Now with a totally different phone number of 888-458-7975. Of course no phone number. I guess I am just trying to figure out how to handle this one as I said I am in fear they will keep calling my work- My sergeant said if they call again they will have to report it to my clearance office. Any assistance would be appreciated.

First in line, you need to put a block on the credit card immediately. If you have to, shut down the account. Do whatever it takes but make sure that the account is either frozen or closed.

Second, if you have any of the recording of the messages they left or the calls they made, keep them on you. Get yourself a NACA attorney and sue the collectors for violating the terms of the FDCPA.

Third, put out a fraud alert on your credit report. Call up the three major CRAs and get it done.

As far as your workplace is concerned, I am assuming that it has something to do with the military or law enforcement because you mentioned 'your Sargent'. Inform your supervisor, the HR department and reception that you are being targeted by scammers and calls of such nature should be ignored entirely.

P.S: Collection firm, law firm, etc etc are all the same if they are in the business of collecting debts and they are all treated the same way under the FDCPA.
