Illegal pdl's / return of overpayments??!!

Over the past year, due to some extreme and unexpected life circumstances, I became trapped in a payday loan nightmare. I dealt with two companies mostly, but six separate companies since last November.
I found out through this site that they are all illegal in Connecticut, where I live. I followed the step-by-step instructions I found here re:closing my account, writing and emailing the letters I saw here, and following up with copies of these to BBB, FTC, etc. My bank manager was great, and I opened a new account there.
The company I previously worked for has left the state so I am no longer working, which in this regard, as far as threats of garnishment and contacting employer, is one less thing to worry about. So far, so good. Several phone calls/emails requesting $$ at first, which have now slowed and/or stopped.
I have overpaid on all of these loans, with a combined total of interest/fees equaling at least $2,000.00. I have requested to all that refunds be sent immediately and no luck to date (all contacted w/in the last month). Does anyone have advice, or success with recouping their losses from any of these lenders? Any help or suggestions really appreciated! :)

It's nice to be out of that rotten cycle. If you get a refund or 2 thats great. What you do get is to keep your money every time you get paid and the relief of all the stress that the payday cycle come with.
