I wanted to post my experience with cash express just for anyone who may be doing research in the future. They are a legal store front. I did my first check with them 15 months ago. Of course it progressed from there and I ended up with several internet loans as well as a couple of more checks with them. I was able to get rid of the internet loans with help from this forum about 8 months ago but could'nt get rid of the store fronts due to mine and husbands paychecks both steadily declining, more with each week it seems.

About 2 weeks ago I knew I would have a problem paying- so I went in and spoke with the manager ahead of time to see if we could work something out. They are listed on the CFSA website although no where in thier store or on thier website do they claim to be a member. I asked if they could work with me at all and they flat out refused and got really rude about it. She asked why I could'nt pay, and I said I did'nt have the money and she said "what do you mean you don't have any money?!" like that was the most ridiculous thing she had ever heard in her life.

So after talking for a few minutes she ended up saying that at most they could hold my check for half a day then it would be deposited. If it was returned I would have one chance to pay it and if I did'nt a law suit would be filed in about 1 weeks time. I am not sure I believe they would've moved quite that fast but I have read on here that they do move fast. I do know that they go out and knock on doors when people are late and another time one of the girls put my due date in the computer wrong and then told me not to worry about it because "1 day late was nothing".

I really po'ed me that she got so rude about it. So I decided to ask a friend for the money. It took me about 2 hours and a xanax to work up the courage! lol Anyway I ended up taking out a loan on my 401k. I know many advise against this and I understand the reasons why- and this may not be the answer for everyone but it was for me. I did not do this for internet loans -they were legal store fronts. I had the loans for 15 months and was paying close to $400 per month in just fees and was getting really behind in my other bills plus paying late fees on ALL of my bills plus my checking account has been overdrawn most of the time.

It was so satisfying to go in there and pay those checks off. And the real kicker is when I went in to do it they actually tried to talk me into re-writing the checks, telling me I knew I was going to need the money for Christmas! Unbelievable! If they would have just been nice to me in the first place and worked with me on the one check I would have just kept on re-writing!
