Closing Bank Account

I know I need to close my bank account and open a new one. Is it Ok to open it at the same bank or is it better to open one at a different bank. Can the loan companies get the new bank info if I open one at the same bank?

some have stayed with the same bank,but make sure the new account isn't linked to the old one.that is key.as long as your bank doesn't link the accounts you should be okay.see the manager for that as well.
bank refuses to close my account
i attempted to close my bank account after learning at least 2 of my 4 pdl's are illegal. my bank refuses to close my account due to pending auths listed on my account. i've already stopped my direct deposit at work so i should be getting a 'live' check next pay period. in the meantime how should i deal with my upcoming debit attempts from the pdl companies? my account won't have the funds due to me stopping my direct depost.
A bank can not refuse you to close your account but if it is the
A bank can not refuse you to close your account but if it is the case either you have to have a word with bank manager or put a hard debit block on the account so that the transactions can not take place through that account.
