hello everyone,

i have 5 payday loans, all online.

as follows

cash yes-1,012.50(finance fee 112.50) have not yet paid toward the actual balance-paid finance fee on 3-5, 3-12, and 3-19
ameriloan-455.00 (finance fee 105.00)have not yet paid toward actual balance-first due date is 3-29-10
discount advances-total due 219.00
paydaymax-total due 219.00
usfastcash-first due date 3-26-total due 260.00-finance fee 60 dollars

I am planning to ask my job to stop my direct deposit(put in the request today) i am paid every friday. i also plan to close out my checking account (or at least put a hard debit on it) and hope to negotiate with my paydayloan lenders to pay them on a monthly basis, even if paying by western union. my question is, would i be better off trying to negotiate on my own with them? can i trust Oak View Law Group (a potential pdl debt consolidator i may utilize) This whole situation is crazy-i just want to live normally, i just want control over my finances, i just want to be able to pay my normal bills (car note, phone, credit card, rent) and i just want to be able to rebuild my financial portfolio. I have no kids and i am single at the moment, so i don't have that many expenses, but the payday loans are RUINING me.......any advice? they are all online loans

Its hard to suggest if you should try to settle directly with your lenders or take help of a consolidation company. If you feel that you can handle the stress of dealing with predatory lenders and win a good deal, you may wish to do it yourself.

Anyway, you haven't mentioned your place of residence. I'd suggest that you confirm the legal status of the lenders before working out a deal with them. If any of these lenders are illegal, then you may avoid paying off the interest and finance charges on the loan.

Well I too think that it will be quite a task to tackle the lenders but you can always give a try. If your payday lenders are illegal or unauthorized to collect in your state then you owe them nothing else other than the principal amount so first of all check out the legitimacy.

A hard debit is always better and if you wish to close the account then do check the policies of ACH transactions of the bank.

i am considering using destination debt solutions to consolidate them, but i phoned the new york state banking department and they advised me it's best to talk to a lawyer. pray for me you guys. im a good hearted guy who made some financial mistakes. i hope i can work this out as painlessly as possible. i am aware i cannot be sent to jail but i hope my lenders are willing to work with me-i have pretty good rapport with my lenders. i will be back on the forum! thanks for the good advice guys!

i have closed my bank account and am in the process of contacting my payday lenders to make arrangements to pay them-i prayed hard and asked God what i should do-he has told me not to try a payday loan consolidation agency, to just work this out on my own. pray for me y'all! i believe i can work this out and am not trying to defraud anyone-just couldn't deal with the automatic debits anymore....

Go to your bank and close your account immediately. Putting a hard debit block is often not enough. Your lenders would try to force open it by changing the DBA name or the amount of withdrawal. To be at the safe side, always close your account before trying to deal with your illegal lenders.
