My Cash Now - Collection Agency PDM

Recently I posted a question regarding My Cash Now and the collection agency Professional Debt Mediation. I received a letter from them in
response to my fax and certified letter for cease & desist and validation letter. It stated I must pay them $1000 for a $500 payday loan with
My Cash Now. So I was really annoyed and I called them and preceded
to quote my payday laws for the State of NJ, etc, etc. I told them
I was willing to pay them only $500 in 5 installments by money order
only and I wanted to receive from them a letter when the loan was paid the debt would be satified. The representative agreed to all my terms.
I told him I was sending him a certified letter confirming our conversation and that I wanted to receive some kind of confirmation from them agreeing to our discussion. Its strange as last week when I spoke
to someone in their office they demanded the $1000. Do you think
its because of my cease and desist letter and validation letter?
Also another question, do you think I can trust them with my agreement presented to them?

No, I wouldn't send them ANY money until you receive a signed ag
No, I wouldn't send them ANY money until you receive a signed agreement, in fact, if I were you, I would send them another letter with your terms, tell them they will NOT receive ANYthing from you until this agreement is signed by someone in upper management.
