I have my checking account with USAA. I am not in the military nor am I a dependant. I live in texas and am trying to figure out the easiest way to handle this. I have a loan with United Cash Loans. I know they arn't licensed here in texas, and are in hot water with many states. I called USAA to revoke their ability to do ACH debits. USAA refuses to do that, and if I close my accout, USAA will open it back up if they try to withdraw funds. That means, if the funds arn't there, it would overdraft. Is there any way around this?

Just tell them that all you checks got stolen and that you need to open a new account to protect you identity. They probably will tell you that you need to submit a police report. Thats how I got my account closed with USAA, I opened a new checking account and they transfered my funds to the new one. Good luck..USAA is not easy to dealt with but you need to know how to get around them.

I am the original poster, I decided to register to make it easier. I spoke with a manager at USAA. He told me to submit all of my info that I have on the company to them, and the will look into do a stop ACH debit for them. They stated that even if they close the account, if UCL tries to withdraw funds, they will overdraft the old account??? That doesn't make since.

Nevermind, I figured it out. lol Anyway, UCL is NOT licensed to lend to your state residents.
No, it doesn't make sense at all! And placing an ACH block on these accounts will NOT stop them because they will change their names and debit HUGE amounts from your account! Go to your branch manager and tell him/her that you are dealing with unlicensed lenders who are KNOWN to change their names and STEAL money from innocent people's accounts! Explain to them that the EFTA law states YOU have a right to stop ALL ACH's on these lenders and they MUST honor it! It would be in your best interest to place a hard debit block on your account indefinitely. I do not beleive whoever you spoke with is aware they MUST honor your request to block these ACH's, they must honor (the bank) regulation E and or the EFTA law or they (your bank) could be in hot water. Google the EFTA and regulation E, print it out and take it into your bank so you will have some leverage.
