Any ideas on how to get BOA to put a hard freeze, the bank manager is telling me that I can do a stop payment for $30 on each one . . but I can't afford that either. The account was force closed with a 700.00 balance, which I paid and got caught up. Then asked them to put a hard freeze on the account and NO ACTIVITY, NO WITHDRAWAL, ACH BLOCK. They said they can NOT do that. Yet they force closed the account, why are they keeping it open for ACH's. Any more ideas? Monday I am going to to the Bank and bringing the FDIC laws and parroting the NACHA and then I will call the AG's office while in the branch managers office.
Other than that . . any other ideas in dealing with Bank of America. I just can't believe that I, as a consumer, can say what comes in and what goes out on my account . . .

I have BoA as well and they did what was called a "Balance Hold"
I have BoA as well and they did what was called a "Balance Hold" on my account. It basically is that it shows up as my account having $0.00 and doesn't allow anything out of it. It was fairly easy to do and the bank manager was more than happy to do it for me. It has been working too! The best thing is that there are no overdraft fees!
