Mrs. _____,
I respect a consumer who researches the services to which he/she uses. With that being said when you applied for and agreed to the terms of the loan it would have behooved you to read the complete contract you were agreeing to. You are a citizen of the state of Arizona, however the contract was not made in the state of Arizona. The contract was completed via the world wide web, the governing law (clearly outlined in your contract) which you agreed to by your legal e-signature is based in the isle and providence of Nevis West Indies Bahamas.
With all the information at hand I am still willing to work out arrangements for the balance that is still owed on your account.. You may contact our offices 8am-5pm CST Monday-Friday. Our toll free phone # is 1-866-321-611. If no contact is made within a reasonable time the account will be sent to a third party collection agency.
If you have any questions do not hesitate to call or email.
Thank you,
Nikki

Hi, I just sent VIP an e-mail with the laws of minnesota and that they are not supposed to making PD loans in this state. I took out a $300 loan from them in December and have over paid it by $250 if I go by the state laws. I said I wanted a refund and got the exact same e-mail that they sent you. How did you proceed? Are they still trying to get the money you "owe" them?

Keep pushing them for a refund, also make sure you file complaints with the FTC, BBB and your AG for lending to your state residents without a license.
I received the same email from VIP Loan Shop. I owed them $120
I received the same email from VIP Loan Shop. I owed them $120 on a $300 loan. I sent the following response - all of the information I incorporated into this letter came from this forum!!! I paid the $120 I owed and was sent a PIF email!
Thank you for your response. I have already paid your company $900 for a $500 loan previously and have paid $180 on the current $300 loan. Therefore, I legally owe your company a total of $120 which I am willing to pay. Please note I am not a resident of Nevis, have never prescribed to be a resident Nevis and have no Nevis presence, as such am not subject to the Nevis laws you detail. Therefore, my state (Connecticut) law prevails. (If you are indeed licensed in the State of Connecticut, please supply your license number). Under this premise, I am more than willing to pay the outstanding balance on my loan with you ($120.00). I will need an address to send a US Money Order.
I do not take threats of being sent to a collection agency lightly. If you choose not to accept payment from me, that is your decision. However, any reasonable, legitimate business entity would not reject a payment offer being made. I would like it in writing that you are not going to accept the funds that I legally owe you. As I am NOT trying to get out of paying your company, if I am sent to a collection agency, I will take this up with the Attorney General’s Office, State of CT, the Federal Trade Commission and the Better Business Bureau. I will also start bankruptcy proceedings in which case you won’t get any monies from me.
The bottom line is I owe your company $120, the balance of a $300 loan I did indeed obtain from your company. However, due to unforeseen circumstances, I need to pay this debt to your company via US Money Order. Again, it seems to me that any legitimate company would be satisfied with the $400 dollars they have already made off of me, and would accept the balance due on the current loan that I have.
I appreciate your immediate attention to this matter.
Thank you.

I received 2 voice mails from VIP loan shop about setting up affordable payment arrangements for my past due accounts. I never called them back because I said I would only communicate through e-mail. Then a few days ago I got a letter from the Minnesota Attorny General along with a copy of a letter they sent the VIP loan shop saying that Minnesotas payday lending laws apply to any business when they lend to Minnesota consumers. The letter also said their lending to Minnesota consumers does not comply with Minnesota laws. For example VIP is not registered with the Department of Commerce, they are charging more intrest then is allowed, and they have violated numerouse other restrictions that did not comply with Minnesota law. The Attorny General also requested VIP reply to the letter within 5 business days and VIP's response should indicate the total number of payday loans they have extended in Minnesota since August 1, 2009, including roll over loans. A few days after they received this letter I got an e-mail from VIP saying that they are sorry for the misunderstanding and even though the laws of the West Indies apply because I singned the contract over the world wide web, that they would consider the loan paid off in full and that I would no longer be receiving collection calls from them.
OMG! They are such idiots! The world wide web has NOTHING to do
OMG! They are such idiots! The world wide web has NOTHING to do with it lol. I am so glad your Attorney General's office addressed this issue! You should send them a GREAT BIG thank you! Yay for you!
