It has been a while since I have been on here! I have a friend who has fallen into the PDL trap and I remember how valuable this site was for me. We live in NC and she has 5 PDL's. The site has changed so much from when I was here I am not sure where to begin. I am trying to help her arrange to get her account closed and everything in order before they come to debit her account on the 30th. Here is who she is dealing with:
United Cash Loans- Loan $350 has paid $210
VIP Loan Shop - Loan $200 has paid $180
Ace Cash Services - Loan $450 has paid $270
Nationwide Cash Advace - Loan $600 has paid $150
Cashjar - Loan $500 had paid $1250
Would someone mind helping me locate everything I need to help her get letters out. Should she contact the ACH processor? I know that was starting after I had taken care of mine. I am on my way with her now to the bank. Any advice or help would be so appreciated. She is a single mom and paying out over $500 a paycheck in fees and is having a hard time paying her normal obligations.

PDLs are illegal in North Carolina. Once she gets her bank account closed she need to send them all a letter telling them they are illegal and that she only owes the principal on those loans.
You can refer to the sticky at the top of this forum about the steps to take when dealing with illegal lenders.
