Payday loan help
Date: Thu, 05/06/2010 - 03:09
I had a payday loan from a couple of years ago from a business that went under. An employee stole a lot of money causing us to have to close the bank acct. I hadn't heard from the payday loan co until they called yesterday at work and when I got back to work later in the afternoon they had faxed paperwork to my work. I told the lady when she called I couldnt have calls at work and I'd have to call her back in the evening. After we hung up is when they must have called back to get the fax #. They're calling it the "bad check" deal, can they harrass me at work? I haven't acknowledged that I even owe it so that it's not "reopened".

Was it a store front lender or Internet? What's the name of the company? Either way, you need to send them a letter revoking their rights to any and all wage assignments you may have signed, then show a copy of your employer. They should honor your request not to call but if they are unlicensed lender they won't, so it's best if you hang up and not speak to them at all.

Is this lady from the payday loan company or a collection agency? How old are these loans? Were they storefront or internet? What papers were faxed to you?
And, what state are you in?
