Hi, I have two outstanding PDL'S I'm not getting anywhere! I haven't decided to close my bank account on anything yet.

GREAT SKY CASH original amount 200.00 paid over 600.00

3-midland market. original amount 400.00 paid 240.00

I'm in PA and the laws are so confusing! I was wondering if someone could give me some guidence. I just don't want to close my accounts if it's illegal to do so. I just need to get out of this before I can more in over my head.

Thanks in advance!

The first thing you need to do is find out whether the lenders are licensed in PA. If they're not then all you owe is the principal. Closing your accounts is a bad idea, as it could lead to court imposed money penalties if the unlikely event you get taken to court by the lenders. You can find out if your lenders are licensed through the PA department of Banking

What are you talking about? Closing the account is the best possible way to protect their interest, especially when you have unlicensed lenders debiting your account. It is the ONLY way to assure these lenders will not steal - the original posters money! What is wrong with you? Are you even doing ANY research on these matters?

so i'm assuming i need to close my account or stop them from making ACH debits. My bank told me I can do that! I was just a little worried about them using a different company name and still get the money somehow. I realize I still owe the one company about 250.00 which i'm willing to take care of, just not directly out of my account.

i'm doing alot of reading and trying to figure this out. Thanks so much for your input!

Closing the account is the best way to go but if you HAVE to keep it open (for direct deposit, for example), you can put it on "deposit only" status. Then get it closed as soon as possible and open a new account. Don't let the PDL know ahead of time you're going to close the account, as they'll more than likely try to debit for whatever they can. Get the account closed and then if you still owe money on the PDL, try to work out a plan with them (paying by money order or pre-paid credit card).
