I just had a question about dealing with a collection agency that would be collecting for a pdl. Now I don't have one that was sent to a pdl, but they are threatening to send mine out to one. the account I talking about is with pdl ventures (possibly High country, I know they change their name alot). My original loan was for 300, so far I've paid them 145, but of course they claim that i owe like 500, what I'm doing is mailing them in payments for the remaining balance of the 300. What I'm wondering is if it gets sent out to a ca. Can I continue to mail payments to the original pdl or would I be able to send the remaining balance to the ca. Because I know that they will be looking for payments totaling around 500, which I'm not going to pay, but I am going to pay what I owe.

well since this is an illegal pdl.chances are the CA they send it to won't provide an address.if they do then send the balance there.if not then post who the CA is here.we can probably find an address to send the payments.just make sure when the principle is paid they get nothing more.

So what if you are dealing with the pdls in house collection department ? They are saying that fdcpa don't apply to them, I have told them thatthey are using the means of interstate commerce to contact a delinquent consumer about a debt they are a debt collector and they have to cease and desist and follow federal law, am I wrong?
