I just received a call from a Ms. Robinson, stating that she is representing East Side Lenders. This is in regards to a payday loan I took out back in October 2009. The amount borrowed was $300 plus the $90 fee. Through roll-overs and paydowns I paid them a total of $610.00. This Ms. Robinson indicated that I owe $410. I believe they are illegal to loan in the State of Arizona and as a result, I owe them nothing more than the original amount borrowed plus the finance fee of $90; which I paid above through the rollovers.
How should I go about handling this woman when I call her back? She also called me at work!
Thank you.

You may let her know that she is calling on behalf of an unlicensed payday lender. You have already paid them over and above the principal amount and may ask her to give you in writing that she would consider the account as being paid in full.
You can search East Side Lender in the board to read more about them.

Negotiating with an unlicensed lender isn't an option, their purpose is to call and harass more money out of you, if it were me, I would just hang up, the more you argue with them, the more they will call.
