Help Intrastate PDL

I am caught up in a PDL nightmare. I live in West Virginia where PDL's are illegal. Just 5 miles away in Ohio I obtained a PDL at a store front and of course it is so very hard to get it paid off. I am now receiving calls daily and they keep depositing ACH to try and collect. What options do I have if any?

Because the payday loans are illegal in your state you may get away with just paying the principal. However, if you took out the loans knowing they were illegal in your state then you have fewer options, and you'll have less, if any, luck getting out of paying the interest as well. And they'll have a reason to take you to court to get a judgment against you, especially with the evidence that you went to another state to get a payday loan.
Your best option is to pay off these loans as much as you can, as quick as you can.

This is what I would do, if I were in your position and could not pay this off in full. I would send them a letter with an outline of how I was going to pay them off, a payment plan, I would send this letter certified, return receipt requested, I would also include a good faith payment via money order. I would continue to send payments as outlined in the letter. By the time this ever got to court you will probably have it paid off or close to it. The point is, don't do nothing, do something, because the longer you put this off, the worst it will get.
