payday loan scam

an internet payday loan company is claiming i received a loan in sept 2009 and I never paid it back. I never received the loan, and there are no bank withdrawls or attempts from this company, but they are demanding I pay $524.87, and they will not send me proof of the transaction.

What is the name of the PDL and what State do you live in? It's entirely possible the PDL isn't even legal in your State. Did you actually apply for a PDL anywhere and provide them with your checking account information?
