I am a florida resident, i have 6 loans out and 4 of them are old. I have been getting several calls from collection agency what should i do? I have already closed my account. I am thinking about going into a payday loan consolidation. My loans are with arrowhead which is from last year i paid them at least 180 for a 300 loan, loanpoint usa (last year) paid them at least 90 on a 100 loan, united cash loan (last year) paid them 100 on a 150 loan, ameriloan (last year) same as united cash loan, cash supply same as ucl, m1y direct is new i borrowed 200 didnt pay them or djr group. I came into some hard time and washnt able to pay them. I know m1y direct called but it came from lombardo, goldman and davis law firm tellin me i owe this debt and the amount i owe is 560. I rec a call from first irs stating that i owe 33o for cash supply and if i dont pay them it was going to my county and the amount was going up to aleast 1800. Us credit agency contacted me for arrowhead stating that i owe 700 on a 300 loan and if i didnt pay i was going to jail for a criminal crime. Help me?

Owing money is not a crime. You cannot go to jail for not paying on your payday loans. To the best of my knowledge, Florida requires that all payday lenders be licensed in the state.
Arrowhead, Ameriloan, United Cash Express( I am not sure this is the same lender), and DJR are licensed.

I was unable to find Loanpoint USA or Cash Supply on Florida's licensee database. Were any of these storefront loans?

If the loans are illegal you only need to pay the principal. There is a good article by Shazzers on how to deal with illegal lenders.

As OLVG Attorney stated you cannot go to jail for past due loans! Florida Consumer Financial Act Sec. 516 states that loans by unlicensed lenders are non collectible in Florida! I do not see where your lenders are licensed in the data base that I have but maybe OVLG attorney has better info! Maybe they are licensed under a different name!

In my opinion, consolidation companies are not a good idea, like if you think about it, they charge $100 per account the settle and the settlement is not even much a difference from the original amount and they don't garantee or prevent from the lender to get on your account and not accept the settlement. many people here in this Forum had done it themselves and have success stories, I was about to get a consolidation company and I have 9 loans, I end up paying $900 in fees!! that is like throwing money away. I started reading many posts and learning how to do it myself. I'll i recommed is to not ignore the creditors or they will get you. good luck!
