Got a call from a megan lundy???

Megan Lundy eh, even the name sounds fake. lol

If it were me, I'd ask that they send something in writing detailing what money is owed and to whom. I wouldn't give anyone a dime if they just called me on the phone, that could be anybody calling.

Thanks for viewing my message. This lady claims to be a lawyer from a law firm in atlanta ga. She claims she will sue me in my county for the nsf -bad check- that she has in my name. I am protected by a "stay" from bkrty, i told her that..she proceeded to continue to make threats against me. She had someone claiming to be a locator call my referrence , he claims "im just the locator call this 888 number tell her (me) she's about to be sued", my friend felt scared for me. Two min later he contacts me on a block call stating the same thing- im just the locator you are being sued this is courtesy call call this 888 number if you dont want it to get to criminal charges. I call this number- this lady claims she's a lawyer from Johnson and freedman in regards to a payday loan, said that she got my name and ss# from a fax she received, told her i included the amount in bkrty and there is a stay. She ignored it. Said i committed fraud w the nsf, either pay or she will file criminal charges in my county. Her name is Megan Lundy. I verified that She does not work for Johnson and freedman or johnson and freeman. I know im protected w the stay. Two weeks b4 this call i got a call from a Ross and Crim Firm.. attempting to also to collect- even thought i have a stay... proceeded to threaten me w criminal charges... he goes by the name of michael smith. This Ross and Crim Firm doesn't exist. I was told that they are bottomfeeder collectors. They refuse to obey the stay. I live in california. To pachacutec1- i shouldnt have to even get anything in writing- im free from this debt. i realize i didnt state that b4- sorry. To both of you who answered- thank you, but does she have any validity in the nsf- do i owe it. i closed the account bcs payday com was taking toooo much $ from it. it went thru ACH- i was told (from a bank) that a neg ACH is the same as nsf-.. still i dont know if DA can prosecute criminal charges for them in CA- especially from a payday loan... dont want to go to jail, especially if im free from this debt. Any input is helpful. I already called consumer affairs, made a complaint to FTC, called the attorney general- not help there-the only recourse i have is to hire an attorney..no one else will help. No one has specific answers to my questions. She violated the stay..still she harrasses me. Was told she can try to sue me.. to let it go to court but my thing is: Is her nsf a valid claim in CA in regards to a payday loan?????? dont want to go to jail. thanks again for your input.

You can't go to jail for owing a debt, nor can you be criminally prosecuted, owing a debt is a civil matter not a criminal one. If this loan was obtained via the Internet and they received payments via electronic transfer then there was no check involved, therefore they are full of crap. If it was discharged in a BK just let them TRY to take you to court, but I would bet these are threats that will never be followed through with. If I were you, I would change my phone number.

I totally Agree. I went through a Bankrujtpcy several years ago this is old debt from a payday loan. I just had a call from a gal from Ross & Crim providing a so called case number and said I had to call thier 887-302-8872 in three days or they'd sue me.

I hope they do in Washington State if they try to collect debt listed ond discharged on a Bankruptcy my attorney can and will sue them for up $1500 a pop! My attorneys are Brown and Seele and they love to sue bottom feeder creditors!

Never return these collectors phone calls and only return correspondance with the assitance of an attorney! They can play games all they want!
