Lending of payday loan is prohibited in the State of Pennsylvania. Check Cashing Licensing Act of 1998 prohibits check cashers from making payday loans. Otherwise consumer discount company act is applicable.

Payday lending, in your state, is illegal. At this point you are only obligated to pay the principal balance of the loan. Use the search box on the forum and find the thread that has the ACH revocation notice and send it to CTC via fax, e-mail and certified mail. Many cash advance places will state they don't have to abide by the laws of your state and that the loan technically has to abide by their governing laws. That's bull.

Make sure you give a copy of the letter to your employer so they know any threats or claims made by the company are without merit. Also take a copy with you to the bank and speak directly to the branch manager. Inform them you are dealing with an illegal payday lender and that while you have submitted a written request to revoke the ACH agreement the company may not adhere to your request. (There are documented instances where they haven't) Ask the BM if a closed account with the bank can be reopened with an ACH debit. If it can't, go ahead set up a new checking account with them, transfer funds and close the old account. If a closed account can be reopened with an ACH debit, ask that the account be changed over to deposit only and to block ACH debits from the account. This is your right as a banking customer.

I already closed my checking account which stopped the debit. That is where I am running into the issue about my wage attachment. I did talk to my payroll department. They will not authorize any wage attachment unless it is regarding a student loan or court ordered for taxes. I did fax a letter to cashtransfers and told them that the wage attachment they have is no longer valid. In the meantime, I have contacted a lawyer and am going to file bankruptcy on them and other things I have out there. I already have a new checking account, my bank was easy to deal with in that regard.
