I have a question about judgements. I have 5 payday loans defaulted. Only one of them is working with me on reasonable payment plan. One of them said if I don't pay in 30 days they will send me to their corporate office to begin garnishment. This place has stated in the past I would also be sued for court costs and was given the figure of $1300. The question is, do they also sue you for court costs? I need to determine exactly how long my wages could be garnished. If I get sued 4 times for $600 each at the 25% I've read about the max taken for garnishment, that would be approximately 16 months. But if they add court costs on top of it, then I could have my wages garnished for many, many years. By my extimation if $1300 is the true ammount, it would be 51 months if I get sued 4 times.

Is that how it works?

Unless all 4 garnishments happen at the same time, in which case my family will starve to death.

I want to pay these people but they are not working with me and I am the sole support of my family. I live in Colorado and that doesn't seem to matter here.

Who are your loans through? How much did you initially borrow? Were they internet loans or storefront loans? How much have you paid so far (don't go by their numbers, how much has been taken out of your account)?

You can't be garnished unless you are sued and a judgment is obtained against you. You may have signed a wage assignment with these companies, however. If you did, we'll give you instruction on how to revoke it. It's voluntary and can be revoked at any time.

Take a deep breath. Don't panic. Supply the info I've asked for and we'll help you through this.
