I live in Alabama and had a payday loan with mycashnow and they took the principal amount and then turned my account over to credit protection depot for the an additional amount they say is still owed. I at first assumed it was probably interest but the amount is not the amount on the loan documents that I have. According to Alabama law they should have only allowed me to borrow $500 but it was a little more than that they loaned me which I have paid back. CPD have sent me emails asking me to pay via western union and have received a few calls. Do I still owe them this additional money that CPD is asking for?

My Cash Now is an illegal lender. You owe principal only. Don’t pay them any interest or fees. Close down your old bank account and open a new one. Ask them for a refund, if you have overpaid them. Pay them only via money order.
