I have a loan out for 500 with CashNet USA. I have paid 750.

1. Does anyone know if they are legal/ licensed for Texas ?
2. Anyone have the correct address ways to contact for a C/D letter if need be.

Hi all,

I spoke with CNU before my loan was due because I noticed a change in the ability to extend my loan which was different from the last time I logged in. I was informed thatI must have been mistaken even though I have screen shots showing what options I should have, (call me crazy to not trust these guys)

After talking to them for a few minutes I realized that the issue would require escalation and more investigation.

I sent them a removal of ACH and a C/D to only contact me by mail. I confirmed receipt of the fax by their Representative and that it would be entered into their system.

Needless to say they did not follow what they said they would. I am not opposed to paying because I know they technically are legal in TX as an online lender.

When I called in to ask them about why they had not followed the the ACH withdrawal I was told that they would not acknowledge it as it was not there "policy".

They also told me I could not ask them to contact them by mail since they were an "online" company and that is how they do business.

I have that conversation recorded and want to know if what they are doing is ok?

Any advice is appreciated,

Zack

The only way to stop Cashnetusa from accessing your bank account is to close it. Basically all an ACH withdrawal does in this case is prevent them from charging you bank fee's for when they try to withdraw funds from a closed account and can't. Close your account and call them to set up a payment plan. I had a loan with them, I found them very easy to work with and had no problems with paying off my loan. Although my situation was different. During the time of my loan my state made PDL's illegal, so Cashnetusa being a legal company made it easy for me to pay them off. When you call to make your arrangements tell them to follow up with you via email and you will do the same.

Why do you think the amount of extensions changed? From what I remember, I had 2 extensions and on the 3rd I had to start paying down the loan. Is that what happened to you?

Zin, I've merged these two threads. Please refrain from starting multiple threads regarding the same topic.

Also, I curious as to why in one thread you ask for the correct address in case you need to send a C&D and in the other thread you say you've already sent an ACH revocation and a C&D which they confirmed was received and noted on your account.

Then you need to file a complaint against them with the FTC because policies do not trump federal laws, the EFTA (Electronic Funds Transfer Act) look it up.

FYI, when you revoke ACH's, you should always take a dated copy into your financial institution to be certain no transactions can get through.

By the way, Cashnetusa also known as Cash America International Inc., their headquarters is located in Fort Worth TX., that is who I would be contacting, I would also inform them they broke the EFTA law and offer to send them a copy of the ACH revocation as well as a copy of the actual EFTA law, let them know you are going to file complaints against them with your state officials, contact information below:
