Payday Loan
Date: Thu, 01/10/2013 - 17:00
My uncle has received a call from a company that claimed to be called consolidated. When I called the company and gave my case number that advised me that I had an outstanding payday loan from 2008 and that I had to pay 580.00 or they were going to serve me with fraud. At this point I became very nervous and pulled out my visa to pay in full. They assured me that I would receive a confirmation via email within the hour and I still have not gotten anything. I am beginning to believe this was a scam. I know I did default on some loan but 2008 is a long time ago and 580.00 seems to be a high amount to me. My questions are as follows. Firstly, is it legal to call my uncle at his house? It was very embarrassing to receive a phone call from him explaining the situation . Secondly, Have I made a mistake by paying the money without asking for any written proof of the debt they said they had bought from the payday loan company? Thank you for your help in advance.
There phone number is 877-210-2180
Looks like Consolidated
Looks like Consolidated Management, a scamming bottomfeeding outfit. You have just been duped. You need to talk to your credit card issuer and change your access details immediately or worse things may start happening. And no, as per the FDCPA, collectors are not allowed to call and discuss your debts with anybody other than you or your lawyer. What was the name of the original loan company?

That is an FDCPA violation to call your uncle and speak about your debts - you can sue them for 1 grand.
