ACS Collections

I got a call from ACS & Associates. The guy started off with a bunch of crap about how they were giving me 2 days to take care of the situation or they would be taking me to court. He said so much its hard to remember what all he told me. I did have a payday loan with Seaside and back in Oct. they agreed to settle it for what I had left on the principal which was $42.50. I agreed, but failed to send it. I realized what I had done when I got this call. Anyway, I called Seaside but they say they cannot accept the payment because they have already sold to third party collections. I asked them who they sold it to and they said it was Debt Management Partners. I have never heard from them. According to the guy from ACS they are the owner. He cited many laws and told me that Seaside was from Florida but according to Seaside website they are in Belize. I told him that I would not pay him and if wanted to sue me to go ahead. You couldn't get a word in with him. He has my SSN and alot of information about me.
I know I should have paid more attention and paid Seaside but didn't. So what do I do now. They are telling me that I owe $847.00. I know that when I did the loan with Seaside it was for 600.00 and the charges were 147.00 for a total of 747.00 but they agreed to take the payments I had made and consider it pif if I sent them 42.50.
Should I just tell him to FOAD if they call back.
Ignore them.
ARRRG! I am really starting to get annoyed at not being able to post replies. Every time I post a reply and its longer than a few sentences it sends it to spam and never gets posted. Very annoying when you type a very long reply.
So back to your question, I would ignore them. They bought the loan from an illegal lender for a few dollars hoping they could intimidate you into paying them instead. He has your social because that is how you applied for the loan. I would keep an eye on your credit report just in case, but I wouldn't worry too much.
