I had six payday loans that were all through companies that were not licensed in the state of CA and three of those six had been issued desist and refrain orders by the CA Department of Corporations. I closed my bank account and on the first day that the payments did not go through, I did receive phone calls as well as emails. I communicated only through emails and sent a copy of the letter from Shazzers' link about them operating illegally in CA. I went back and forth with two lenders (Eastside Lenders and Think Cash) on emails. With Eastside Lenders, I was emailing a rep and she basically told me I was wrong...blah, blah, blah, but I held my ground with her and kept citing CA law back at her. I included a link of the desist and refrain order to which she replied, "LOL :-)" My response was to tell her that I wasn't sure why she though violating a court order was funny and that I had filed complaints with the BBB of Delaware, FTC, and my State Attorney General's office. I also told her that I was in the process of filing a report with the CA Department of Corporations, but I needed to print out all email correspondence first. I have not heard back from her since. I am just wondering if I should be worried that none of the other lenders are telephoning me or contacting me by email.

I wouldn't be too concerned, I am quite sure you will eventually be contacted, and if you are be prepared because you will probably be receiving calls from 3rd p arty collectors,
