Threatening contact from Consolodated Management

"This is Travis Tucker called regarding an order that was submitted to my office. I've been trying to find an address to present your formal claim at. Either your residence or a place of employment. You have charges and a claim against you. At this point you have an opportunity to discuss the charges against you. Please call 8887974526. Your claim number is xxxxxxx. You have officially been notified.â€
Hung up abruptly.
I called the 888 number back and it was for Consolidated Management. They had the wrong SSN#, wrong address, and wrong birth date. The CSR acknowledged that and said I wouldn't be contacted anymore.
I got a phone call 30 min. later telling me this was pre-litigation and all the information they had (place of work, work phone number) matched who they were looking for despite the wrong SSN#, birth date, address so they were offering to settle or serve me with criminal and civil papers at my job.
What should I do?

They are scammers. Did you ever have a payday loan and defaulted on it? If so, please tell us what state you are from, the name of the lender, how much was the original amount borrowed and how much you paid back. If did not take out loan, ignore the call as they are definitely illegal. Debts are civil, not criminal.
Google them and send them a cease and desist letter via CMRRR.
Google them and send them a cease and desist letter via CMRRR. If they violate it, collect $1000 for the FDCPA violations.
No one is passing any moral
No one is passing any moral judgments, all of have had these issues. This just sounds like one of the bottom feeders that acquire these loans for pennies on the dollars and then violate collection practices. I would file a complaint against them with the FTC and ignore. What they are threatening is just that threats. If they call again complain again with the FTC. If you have an address for them at all - send them a Cease and Desist letter, send it CMRRR, that way you will have proof they received.
They called my cell phone
They called my cell phone this morning 3 times without leaving a msg in the space of 5 minutes then called leaving a message, with the woman sounding like the urgency of a heart attack needing immediate medical attention and then persisted to call my place of employment and my parents.
At what point do they violate FDCPA rules? The message says there are pending charges against me.
It seems that they have already violated FDCPA rules with
1) Persistent calling
2) Claiming there are pending charges when they have no legal right.
3) Claiming there are pending charges when they don't have the intent to file.
4) Contacting other people after they have verified my address.
Am I wrong about this?
Would it be worthwhile to pursue it?
All I can say is thank god for Google voice capturing time stamps and voice mails I can download as an mp3 audio file.

I did have a PD from Check-n-Go that I defaulted on. I am from Texas. The loan amount was, I believe, $3000. It was almost 4 years ago. I made 2 payments of about $290 back before I got underwater and closed my checking account. I won't dispute on the forum the validity of the debt and I still don't have the ability to pay it back. I also noted that the statue of limitations is almost up for collecting on it too. I'm not going to ask for any moral judgements here but I still don't have the ability to pay it.
Anything else you need to know?
I see from other posts and Google searches that they are scammers.
They already violated, IMO, the Fair Debt Act (I forget the exact acronym) by calling me 6 times at work and leaving 1 voicemail, calling my cell 3 times and leaving a voicemail and calling my parents twice, after I had already verified the address that they should send my mail to.
I am in Texas, which is a one
I am in Texas, which is a one party state.
That isn't an issue though since they voluntarily left voice mails.
Time stamped phone records from the cell phone company, my work, and my parents' phones would be the proof of repeated calling.
What do you think?
YES
you are right on all counts.now what state are you in again?some states if one party in regards to recording calls might allow messages as part of a case against them.however did you send a c&d to them?is there proof of the calls to others?they did violate the FDCPA,but proving it is another story.btw if a two party state then you have to inform them they are being recorded so the messaages won't be allowed.
