I am new here also and just learning the ropes of dealing with pdl's but I did manage to find where the license and registration databases are kept for the state of Texas. The Texas Secretary of State's website has an area that can be searched for registration on CSO's and Office of the Consumer Credit Commissioner's website can be searched for licenses of legal lenders. Both can be googled. I would start there and make certain that each of these are legal in the state of Texas before doing anything else. Of course, if these are storefront loans they are most likely legal.

My best guess would be to contact each company and explain the situation and see what you can do about working out an extended payment plan. Hopefully someone more experienced will chime in and confirm this or correct me. I sincerely hope you can get somewhere with your pdl's, I know mine are about to drive me totally bonkers.
