Once again asking about Zest Cash, now known as Spot Loan. NOT spot on loan. Zest Cash was legal when I took out the loan, then they changed to Spot Loan, which is tribal. I guess I am just still trying to confirm that the loan is illegal, since it is now tribal with Spot Loan?

I got a collection letter from Stellar Recovery about this. I just want to make sure I have the right information before I continue not paying.

Thanks again...

Yes I have paid more than the original loan was for, and no it was not in collections until after it changed to spotloan. I will send the letter to Stellar Recovery. Again, I just wanted to make sure this was correct and didn't want to get myself into trouble if I was wrong.

Thanks!

Since they became a tribal lender (like many others that have become "rent-a-tribe" lenders) I would say it's an illegal loan, The exception might be if it was already in the collection process when the company changed.

From what I've read elsewhere they claim to be operated from within the reservation but in actuality they contract out their processing and customer service just as Ameriloan, 500Fast Cash, and others do.

Send the collection agency a cease and desist letter and also remind them this is an illegal tribal loan. Have you paid them more than the principal?

"Spotloan℠ is a brand owned by BlueChip Financial, a tribally-owned entity organized under and governed by the laws of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians of North Dakota, a federally recognized Indian Tribe. BlueChip is located on and operates within the Tribe’s reservation. All loans are subject to credit approval
