Defaulted payday loan in the state of Louisiana

I have defaulted on a payday loan in the state of Louisiana and would like to know if it can be turned over to the DA's office as a worthless check and be prosecuted or is it just considered a debt not collected and go on my credit report?

Debts are civil, not criminal. The only law breakers are the people telling you this crap. Who did you borrow from and who is telling you this garbage???
If your lender is licensed,
If your lender is licensed, then they can sue you because of nonpayment of debt. But illegal lenders can’t take any legal action against you if you don’t make any payments. They can’t report to the credit bureaus also.
