I know they are licensed in the state of Ohio, but for a reasonable interest rate, they are charging 249% per a call with them last week. I have emailed them a cease and desist notice 4x as I have paid $690.75 on a $400 loan. I have blocked the ACH's out of my accounts. They replied that it isn't a payday loan but an installment loan, and now I am unable to access my account on-line to review the paperwork.

I just received a call that they are going to start wage garnishments with a court order. Can they do this?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

they are talking about a wage assignment.a real garnishment requires a court order, but that comes from winning a lawsuit which they can't do without a court date that you attend.get a wage assignment revocation letter to your employer asap, and know that a garnishment comes from them suing you and winning.again get a revocation letter to your HR/payroll person asap.

i would report them as again they lied about the court order as you must be sued and have a day in court.that is something you need tp report to your AG asap.just because a place has license doesn't mean they follow the rules.

Well, they have stopped calling me at work, but continually leave me messages for a settlement etc...I have never received anything in writing from them as requested either via USP or email. At this point the stop pay at the bank is about to expire so thinking I need to pay another $25 to have it re done for another 6 months. I have paid them back all of the principal + so how do I get them to stop calling me?

you draft an ach revocation letter locate in soaplady's signature.why pay for a stop payment when EFTA section E is specific in regards to ACH debits.see a manager only and give them that letter.they can do that for nothing.btw the only way they will stop calling is by you not returning calls and filing an AG complaint against them.do those two things and continue to ignore them.
