I have a lot of payday loans and I am now unable to keep up with the payments. Starting this week, I'm going to default. Is there a reasonably priced service that helps with this?

I live in Illinois and I have 8 loans(all internet based). I've managed to pay them all every week, but now I'm running out.

Is it better to try to work with them individually or work with a debt settlement or consolidation service. I've spoken to a few settlement companies and it's all very confusing.

The companies I owe: Great Plains, Plain Green, Magnum, Cash in a Wink, Insight Capital LLC, One Click Cash, United Cash Loans.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Ok, I am finally ready to bare my "dirty" laundry here because I am in need of help.

I currently have 6 active payday loans. All of them are internet-based. I've read previous posts about how to deal with the illegal ones, but I admit I'm a little afraid of initiating this process. I have closed my checking account.

I would like to hear from other people who have been through this and how the process actually worked for them.

I've had most of these for a year or more and have had an excellent payment record with them, but now I'm in default. I live in Illinois.

They are as follows:
1) Great Plains Lending--I borrowed $900 on 2.21.12. So far I've paid them $909.03. They are saying I have 17 payments left at $129.87 biweekly.

2) Plain Green Loans--I borrowed $800 on 11.30.11. So far I've paid them $1,522.17. They are saying I have 5 payments left at $117.09 biweekly.

3) Magnum Cash Advance--I borrowed $350 on 5.22.12. I owe them 5 more payments of $156.40 per week.

4) One Click Cash--I borrowed $600 on 3.26.12. So far I've paid them $720.

5) Insight Capital LLC--I borrowed $300 on 7.6.11. So far I've paid them close to $2,000.

6) MyCash Now--I borrowed $800 on 4.25.12.12. So far I've paid them
$369.21

Thank you

Someone responded to my question about all of payday loans and I was told to send letters to Plain Green and Great Plains and that I would likely get a PIF. What does "PIF" stand for?

Hi,

I live in Illinois and I am still confused about how to approach my internet payday loan lenders. I've read and printed out the info on how to deal with unlicensed payday lenders, but I still have questions.

Based on what I've read payday loans are LEGAL in Illinois. Since most of my lenders were internet-based, am I saying they are illegal because they are unlicensed in the State of Illinois?

Can someone from Illinois tell me exactly what reason they gave in their letters to the payday lenders?

Again, my lenders are Great Plains, Plain Green, MyCashNow, OneClick Cash, United Cash Loans and Magnum Cash Advance.
