Looking for a little help here.. (Ohio)
Date: Wed, 06/29/2011 - 07:02
I've got one payday loan out, through CheckSmart, here in Ohio. I've used them before and as far as I know, I've got no negative marks in their system, as I've always been able to pay them back in full. However, times are a little rougher now and in retrospect, the loan itself was probably not a good idea. It's putting stress on me and my life and I just want to be rid of this.
I've missed a few days at work over the last couple of weeks due to the move as well as being sick. I am worried that my next paycheck may not cover the full amount owed ($748). After reading some of these threads, I'm not sure I have a full idea as of what to expect if I call asking to set up a repayment method.
How does this work? Are they willing to work with you? I've heard some of these horror stories and I'm fearing the worst. I guess I just don't want it to come down to pay day when I'm expected to pay everything off, only to find out I don't have the money to pay them, and they essentially try to access my bank account and my check bounces.
Any kind of information or help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Call them before you default and ask for an extended payment plan. They're usually pretty good to work with.

Thanks for your response. I guess I'm just a little paranoid and am making the situation out to be worse than what it might be. But then again, when you're worried about money, that tends to happen to the best of us.
Would you suggest that it would be best to call the store I borrowed from or the corporate office?
And also, sorry if I had two posts concerning this.. when I first tried to post it looked like the entire thing disappeared, so I rewrote it. My apologies if theres another floating around on here.
