My wife's income dropped considerably about a year ago and to make ends meet, I unfortunately started taking out installement loans. This was fine for a while, but I eventually was not able to continue paying them. The lenders are as follows:

CashCall
SOS Loans
CashnetUSA
ChecknGo

All were for $2600 originally, current balances are now more than that due to their high interest rates. At this point I cannot even make one payment to any of them as I struggle to pay my regular bills and feed my family. The constant calls, texts and emails are wearing on me.

Cash Call just gave me a one-time settlement option for $2000, but of course I cannot pay that.

SOS says I will be sent to their LEGAL department. What does that mean?

As I am unable to even make payments to these lenders, let alone payoffs, what can they do to me if I just stop paying?

Thank you!

What state do you live in? Internet loans are illegal in some states. Also, was your loan with CashCall actually through Western Sky or did you sign a contract with CashCall itself?

With the possible exception of CashCall, I think that all of the lenders are US based and not tribal or off shore. If payday loans are legal in your state verify that the lenders are licenced. If they are, contract the corporate office and set up extended payment plans.

Hope this helps at least a little bit.

Sorry, the site will not let me edit my posts at this time.

The worst thing that can happen is the PDL companies send you to collections. If this happens you will be able to set up more reasonable payment plans. Your wages may be garnished but that is usually a last resort used by the collection agencies.

They cannot send you or your wife to jail, suspend your drivers licence or ssn. If you are threatened using these tactics, there are threads on this site that will help you deal with the threats.
