this pdl is part of MTE and totally illegal.try to find out how much was debited from your old account.any renewal fees go toward this loan seeing as UCL is illegal.i wouldn't even talk to them further.if you paid the loan in renewal fees you owe them nothing.i would file AG and FTC complaints.

I'm SOOO lucky!!! I just happened to check my old bank's website just because....and even though I thought I was out of luck when it didn't list the statements....but I listed the entire history! It was like finding gold!!! I see exactly where they deposited $250 into my account and I see all of the transactions that took place up until my account was closed (because of these clowns). Looks like I paid a total of $300.00.
By the way I'm in CT ~ I'm not familiar completely with the laws and I've tried reading information on here about them...but I think my mind is scrambled right now. In paying them the $300...am I still in the clear?
After I make complaints to the AG and FTC...what should I do to make sure they mark my account in full and I can get them off my back?

Excellent! I can't tell you how glad I am that I was able to track down these bank records. I wouldn't have had anything to really prove I did in fact pay.
Should I send these to them as well or is that pointless?
Oh sorry ~ I meant sending these to ameriloan as proof.

Paul's right, they are illegal in CT. Definately file with the CT Attorney general, they have finally started to look into the illegal pdl's. You can also file with the BBB, it might not do much, but it can't hurt.
Sending them your info would probably be pointless, they don't care about anything but getting their money back. If you do get a call from a collection agency, send them a DV letter. Chances are they won't be able to provide anything. I did that for ARM of FL, they are not licensed to collect in CT & they tried to collect on an illegal pdl. I reported them to the CT banking commision, they gave them a phone call and I haven't heard from them since (knock on wood).

I'm pretty sure United Cash Loans is illegal just about everywhere; don't know about fast cash, probably someone else here does. United Cash Loans will do their best to tell you that even though PDL's are illegal in New York, that you are bound by the laws of Oklahoma. I told them that MY state government told me they were illegal here, UCL told me that my state govt. was wrong!!! I've asked them repeatedly to send me something in writing on company letterhead saying that they are indeed legal in my state; needless to say I haven't gotten anything...

Its sad that we have been screwed by this company but it makes me feel good that I am not the only one. I received a call from this company yesterday about a $200 dollar loan that I took out in March 2007. I think I had to pay 60 with that for some fee which I forgot what it was called but nevertheless they took out $400 plus out of my account. Then they stopped taking the money which in my mind meant that I had paid the loan off. So during the call the lady asked me for $335 to secure that the case will not go into collections. She told me that the loan had went up to $3,000 some dollars because it hadn't been paid in so long. I told her my current financial situation and there was no way in the world I was going to keep giving them money on something that was already paid for. I also told her I didn't appreciate the phone call at work she then told me she can call me everyday in order to get their money. I told her my boss wouldn't let her keep calling everyday. She then told me if it was my money and I wanted it back I would call anywhere I could reach that person for my money. I told her for one I wouldn't have waited for I asked her why did they wait until now to call me. They haven't sent me anything by email or mail stating this information.Once I saw that my debt had been paid I had closed that account but I waited 2 months after to do that. Should I worry because for the first time I am not. I usually cry and panic and make promises I can't keep.

no you shouldn't panic.you should file AG and FTC complaints.you paid 400.00 on an illegal 200.00 loan.you owe this illegal outfit NOTHING!!!!!.in fact you could ask you AG for assistance in getting the 200.00 you overpaid refunded.just don't pay them another dime.
UNITED CASH LOANS
UNITED CASH LOANS ARE NOT LEGAL ANYWHERE. I LIVE IN MARYLAND AND I FILED A COMPLAINT AGAINST THEM WITH THE MARYLAND DEPARTMENT OF FINANCIAL REGULATIONS AND WAS TOLD THAT LEGALLY I DID NOT HAVE TO PAY THEM ANYTHING!! (EVEN THOUGH I'VE ONLY PAID ONE RENEWAL FEE ON A $300 LOAN) BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE LENDING IN THIS STATE AND I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT ANY COLLECTION AGENCY THAT WORKS FOR THEM IS ALSO BREAKNG THE LAW.

I live in MD too, and that's what I was told. But you can bet that when United Cash Loans calls you, they'll tell you that the State of Maryland is wrong!! I just hung up on them...

Not only does United Cash Loans not care that they're illegal in Maryland, they even have a customer "testimonial" on their home page from a "Steve, in Maryland!" How's THAT for nerve?
