I live in PA and had payday loans with these two on-line PDL lenders. After reading info on this forum, I closed my bank accts and send the cease and desist letters that were referenced on the forums.

My history with them.
US Fast Cash - I borrowed $400 in 2008, paid it back in full with all the interest. I borrowed $400 in 2009. I made 3 payments to them on this amount for $125 each. Total payments to US Fast Cash to borrow $800 has been $2,100., so far.

Ameriloan - Borrowed $350 in 2008, paid it back in full with all the interest. I borrowed $350 in 2009. I made 3 payments to them on this amount for $105. Total payments to Ameriloan to borrow $700 has been 1,990, so far.

I had to take a pay cut at work and began struggling with the payday debt. I came across this forum and closed my bank account and sent the cease and desist letter to both lenders - which I believe to be the same company as all collection email correspondences from them look identical. They did not respond. I actually emailed and faxed it numerous times.

I did speak with one of their reps on the phone and they claim they are licensed and the number is on the website, but refuse to provide me any written documentation. I could not find their license number on their websites. I proceeded to file a complaint with the BBB in Oklahoma. The BBB does indicate they are not licensed to do business in OK. However, they continue to reply to the complaint through the BBB and continue to demand that I pay US Fast Cash $550 (still due) and Ameriloan $565.

I feel since they are refusing to provide me with their license and documentation of the debt, that I do not have to do anything more. My debt is satisfied. I have actually demanded a refund. Yet, they continue to stand firm.

What do you think, and what else can I do?

I greatly appreciate your advice.

Thanks.

Send them a letter demanding the debt be marked paid in full.
Tell them you are also forwarding a copy of the letter with all the details of how they are illegal lenders, how much your borrowed, and how much has been repaid to your attorney general, federal trade commission, and the BBB.

They are being investigated by everyone, even the FBI.

That must be the longest investigation in FBI history because I
I've been hearing that rumor since 2003. The Pennsylvania AG rarely gets involved with payday loans, but the Department of Banking just won a big case that established its authority over payday loans made to Pennsylvanians. I would suggest directing your complaint to that office since they may be more motivated to act than anyone else right now.
