Last Monday I got a call from a women(could not understand her) telling me that I had 4 complaints against me and that I needed to call her back. This last This Monday at exactly the same time....this number calls again and tells me that if I don't call back or my attorney calls back...it will be bad news for me. The number they gave me to call back was (425) 880-2605. I looked that number up and it said it was a cell number in Everett, WA.
About 18 months ago...I had taken a payday loan out from Together Cash which I found out later was an illegal company. I paid my principal balance only and never did pay any interest.
I wonder after all this time if these two calls I have been getting are from them in some way trying to get me to fork over the interest on the payday loan that I took out about 20 months ago??
Should I call this number back or wait to see what develops??

If it was an illegal payday lender, then they cannot take any legal actions against you. The next time when you receive a call from the collection agency, ask them to validate the debt. If the collection agency is unable to validate the debt, it means they don't own your account. In such a situation, you can ask them to stop calling you any further.

Payday loans are small, short-term, high-interest loans that typically come due on your next payday. The way they work is you write a check to the lender for the amount of the loan plus the lending fee. The lender gives you cash for the loan amount and holds your check for deposit for two weeks, or until your next payday.
