a payday loan company that I owed and intend to pay back (a settlment company is working with me) has left a message for me at work that they are going to start wage garnishment in the amount of 25% of my salary. with your experience, is this something that will definitely happen???

who is this pdl?also what state are you in again?if the loan was online then i doubt they will garnish as that takes a court order.i would submit a WAGE ASSIGNMENT REVOCATION letter to your HR or payroll person.btw 25% is reserved for tax and student loan debt.15% is the usual norm for legal garnishments for debts other than the ones formentioned.in short empty threat.
