I am getting calls that they are going to attach a garnishment for my wages and file criminal charges here in Dallas, Texas. Is that possible for a payday loan company to do that here?

Thanks

The short answer is no.

They may have some leverage however.

We can't really give you good advice though, unless you tell us the name of the company you're dealing with and how you obtained the loan (internet or storefront). Also, how much did you borrow and how much did you pay before defaulting?

texas being non-garnishment i'm almost sure this is for an internet loan.therefore the arrest threat should be reported as well.file a police report, but also do answer the question ohiogal asked as to who the lender is and how much was debited before default.
