Ameriloan- Borrowed: $400; Paid: $1,130; Balance: $325
United Cash Loans- Borrowed: $350; Paid: $710; Balance: $390

Okay I've been researching this, and I'm not sure where to start. I called my bank and had them stop the payments. They asked if I wanted to file a complaint against them if I thought they took too much money out of my account, I told them not yet. I tried UCL and they were closed due to inclement weather. Then I tried calling Ameriloan, and they too, (shocking I know) were also closed due to inclement weather.

Anyway, after doing the stop payment on my bank account what should my next step be? I live in Kentucky if that helps anything.

I've got a similar screen from AmeriLoan when I log in. They haven't acknowledged any of my emails and so far haven't accepted the certified letter but on my account screen it says:
Nex due date 12-31-1969 (yes it says "nex"
Amount: $0.00

Guess they can't spell next.

I'm in Kentucky.

UPDATE
Ameriloan has changed my account, still shows my balance but now it says amount due on next due date 0.00. I guess we'll see what happens from there.

Report what to the credit bureaus - they both owe you money back..
Ameriloan - Trial - Illegal - no way licensed to lend in your state.
United Cash Loans- Trial - Illegal - no way licensed to lend in your state.

Follow the link in the post above and secure your bank account.. you don't owe either any more money. They are both tribal in Oklahoma, unless you drove to the reservation in Oklahoma and took out the loan. What state are you in?

Well I guess it means they have gotten your emails at least - It has only been a few days - keep us posted.
What is the status on your bank account?

I have alerts sent to me via text, I haven't closed my bank account, I really hate to do that, I have direct deposit, and I have other payments that come out of it. Like I said, I've talked to the bank, and they wanted to file a dispute or whatever, but with my text alerts, I'll know as soon as it happens if they try to take money out, and I'll call my bank and have them fix it, hopefully. And aslo, I've been transferring my money into my savings account. I'm hoping that its safe that way.

Should I keep sending the email, or call them until they mark my account as paid in full? I don't want this coming back to haunt me in a couple years.

Sorry I found the "what to do" thread. But I do have a question. In thread it says I should go ahead and pay the principle. Does that mean the remaining 325 and 390?

You want to make sure the other account is closed and reopen another not linked in any way to the other - Revoke their ACH authorization and wage assignments. Stop payments will not keep them out always..you can email the letters to them via their own websites to ensure the get and provide copies to the bank. Some dispute past charges - to me until you revoke their ACH authorization - you did authorize here is the link to follow: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/paydayloan/dealingwith-illegallenders.html

No -- it means that you don't have a principal balance:

Ameriloan- Borrowed: $400; Paid: $1,130; They owe refund of $730

United Cash Loans- Borrowed: $350; Paid: $710; They owe refund of $360.00

The other balance is what they still want to try to get from you now what you owe - you are only morally obligated to repay principal what you borrowed minus anything already paid, which is why they owe you a refund now.

Demand PIF letters from both and demand the refunds be sent to you via check to your address on file - may or may not get but you still want to ask..

respond just that way as bingonut stayed they are handing you a line.don't fall for it.

Email I just received from Ameriloan, no surprise they aren't giving me a refund.

In addition, it has come to our attention that the form you are using for your correspondence originated from a forum on the website http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/ . Regrettably, posters on these types of forums tend to traffic in misinformation and mistruths. Often, forums of this nature advance the incorrect theory that form complaints and letters will absolve customers of the obligations set forth in the valid loan agreement entered into between the customer and Ameriloan.

The go on to say that they will settle with me for $100 and "However, the loan agreement you entered into with Ameriloan was and is a valid agreement, which is governed by the laws of the Miami Tribe of Oklahoma, a federally recognized Indian tribe."
It also says that the payment of $100 must be made by ACH or debit/prepaid card.

So, now what?
