Weird Calls at Work

OK, with all of the @#$% that USA Cash Express has pulled, I am wondering if they are trying to pull one on me. For all I know, it could be some bottom feeder doing this.
We repeatedly get a caller at work with a "Private" caller ID. the first day, he asked for the name of the Company's owner. I asked where he was calling from, and gave me a name and said he was calling from the local university, it's "detailed business" to discuss with him. Hmm, never had caller ID blocked from them before. His name also does not come up as being affilited with the university in any way.
Now he calls every day and asks for the owner. Of course, we say he isn't in and he hangs up. If we press him to say what it is about, he won't answer, or says it's detailed. he did give the same name and organization to a coworker yesterday (which again, we suspect is not true).
Today when I asked where he was calling from, he said he had another call and hung up. You can hear call center noise in the background, by the way.
Has anyone had calls like this?

No point going to the AG or the FTC with this as its not certain
No point going to the AG or the FTC with this as its not certain that the purpose of the calls are related to collection or some type financial scam or scheme. For the time being, just report the number to the local police and tell them that you are being harassed every day by a man from this number.

did you,or anybody else tell the owner,or a manager about this?if not do that before reporting anything.could be nothing.you never know.if you did and they said they no idea what it's about then report them.
