Cash Call/Western Sky loan... help
Date: Wed, 10/10/2012 - 08:57
I have been doing a lot of reading on the forum about Cash Call/Western Sky Financial. I just printed the loan contract I have with them, and WOW!!! I didn't know half of this stuff....
I got a loan for $2525.00 in May of 2012.... Interest rate is 139.12%, so I will pay back $1400.00 on a $2525.00 loan? This is CRAZY!!!!!!
To date I have paid them $1251.33 for interest and principal.. so I owe them $1273.67. I don't have a problem paying this money back, but certainly don't want to pay them back $14000.00.
I live in Florida and need some advice for how to handle this since I believe this is an illegal loan in Florida. Basically what I need help with is what type of letter do I send to them? Just the same letter that I sent to other pdl companies?
BTW... I have gotten PIF on 3 of my PDL companies since I started using this site... WHOO HOOO!!!! Now dealing with a few others and Cash Call (this one is the big one).
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Margie
CashCall is going to tell you all sorts of crap that FL law does
CashCall is going to tell you all sorts of crap that FL law does not apply and they they will get their money but there is nothing they can do to you in the state of FL. Make sure you file complaints with the Florida Office of Financial Regulation on both Western Sky for making a loan that exceeds the states interest rates and then one on CashCall for trying to collect on an illegal debt. Also make sure that you continually tell them that you know the loan is illegal under FL law and that you will only pay back the principle and nothing more. You will also want to check your credit report and dispute anything that CashCall puts on them.

Hi Margie and welcome
Let me tell you - I dealt with this for my father and he had the exact same situation. I want you to email Elissa Chavez and Jean Kohles - Elissa.chavez@cashcall.com and Jean.Kohles@cashcall.com
Tell them you are willing to repay the principal if they are willing to delete themselves from your report. After enough prodding (took about a month for me to get through to them) they'll agree. Keep us posted
So how often did you email them? I haven't had any response sinc
So how often did you email them? I haven't had any response since my last email to them and I suspect they are busy reporting to the credit bureaus.
