I knew it would get worse before it got better, but...

My Huntington account was finally closed, so I opened another with Key. Key called me on Monday and I went in today after receiving notice that several of my payments were returned for NSF. I knew that my check was (for once) sufficient to pay these, so I went in and found that they had received notice from Chexystem and that they would have to close my account. I apologized, said I was embarrassed (I was MORTIFIED) and went through the process of closing out my account. Of course the computers were down, so I have to go back to the bank this afternoon to pick up my checks (one for the balance and one for my landlord).

I plan to go to Woodforest for Second Chance Checking, but I have a few questions/concerns. Finally, the payday lenders no longer have my banking information. What is the best way to deal with them. I have 5 -- three are legal and two are not. I have defaulted on one prior and this payment would've been my last. I have no intention of not paying.

I contacted one lender by e-mail to let them know what happened and will phone the rest shortly.

My question is -- what should I do? From the remaining balance, I want to first pay my car payment and then my phone bill. Then use the rest to make good faith payments on my loans until my next payday.

I'm trying to see the silver lining and I'm trying to remain positive, but man...

Thanks so much! I've contacted the three legal lenders and they've been great. One was unwilling to offer a payment plan, but I can afford to pay it in full on my next paydate. I'm waiting on a payment arrangement offer from another after they receive my good faith payment of $100 (my offer) and another, an installment loan, allowed me to pay the past-due balance and will resume normal payment on my next paydate. For once, the issue was not my ability to cover regularly scheduled payments, but rather the bank's closure of my account.
