Hey, all. New guy, in payday hell, working my way out, one at a time, thanks to all of the great information I've found here. I really appreciate all of your time and contributions.

So, first of many. Checked and made sure that the lenders were not licensed in my state, sent the letters/emails, closed the bank account. First response from GreenLight Funds - a $300 loan, one of a number of loans that I've taken from them, overpaid by hundreds of dollars. Any thoughts on how to respond is most appreciated. I sent letters on Friday, so I have not yet filed complaints with BBB, AG, FTC. Thanks in advance...

Welcome Markuggiero,

Your next step will be to not pay a dime. You have already paid off the principal amount. Rather, you should get a refund from this payday loan company (provided they are illegal). Most of the illegal pdl lenders send these kinds of letters to the people. So, you shouldn't be surprised at all. Send another letter to them asking for a refund. Mention in the letter that you'll have to file a complaint with BBB, AG, FTC if they don't give you a refund.
