I have a payday loan for $200 dollars that I am behind on. I called and told them that I will seek help from a debt consolidation company and they told me that was fine. But, I have been doing a little research online and found out that a lot of consolidators will not work with payday loan companies because it is to much work. Does anyone have any suggestions for me?

I have read people saying the same thing for lenders also. There is a mixed response to it. Most of the payday loan companies are not willing to work with consolidation companies at first place. There might be a multiple reasons for it but ultimately consumers are crushed in between.

The best way is to avoid payday loans so that you don't have to face what you are going through today. Second, work out a payment plan on your own so that you are able to make regular payments to the lenders. Write that much amount only that you can afford to pay. Do not write more than what you can't pay in order to win their trust. You will lose it anyway.

Never miss payments after the lenders have finalized your plan. They offer the benefits with the hope that you will not miss any payments from now onwards. But if you do so, you won't be getting these benefits anymore.

Still if you can't choke out a financial plan and need professional help, there are a few companies that can negotiate with your lenders. Some of them have been listed in the forum also.

But I will always suggest you to do this repair on your own. You can always be sure of what you are doing in the plan.

Hi Ben, just a note on town and country, I called this morning and asked a few questions before I faxed my documents to them.

Do you report this to the 3 major credits .....
she said no, the payday loans would report and show me paying, that is good for my credit report. Town and Country will not report that I went through a management program to pay these guys off. It will show that I did it all myself

The $155 is a retainer and has nothing to do with your first initial payment to your creditors. Stick with the program and you get that back after your last payment :)

I faxed all my info to them today and I am sending my retainer early next week. Next step, they call everyone and find out exactly how much I owe, put the program together and call me to discuss payments.

I am really excited about taking this GIANT step. This is truely a blessing to get me out of the biggest mess I was in.

Linda, I am so happy to hear this update.

Two things, I will like to tell you here:

First, stick to your plan at any cost. Do not miss your payments otherwise you might lose these benefits.

Second, never ever take a payday loan after you are out of this trap. The suffering caused at those hard times will be much bearable than the ones felt with these loans.

Hi there, I just wanted to let you know that I went through a stop payday loan company on the internet. It was only $100 to start and they were able to tell you exactly what to and my payments went from $500 every 2 weeks to $240 per month. What a relief. Good luck

Just so you know, you don't need to pay somebody to get you out of the payday loan trap. If you're in a hole, which tool would you use to get out? A shovel, or a ladder?

Lots of our community members have broken out of the PDL cycle on their own, with help from the community. It takes work and commitment, but it can be done. The help you need is right here.
