update on wells fargo account
Date: Wed, 05/17/2006 - 17:00
Okay, I was really ticked!!! wells fargo says one thing and then does another! also there was a lost money order that has never been applied to my account and I still have the receipt. so I have been disputing with them over that. I never heard anything...just NATIONAL ACTION calling my house being jerks. I faxed them and told them to buzz off and to stop calling my house and that this account is still in dispute and investigation because of the lost money order.
well, the more I thought about it, the madder I got. So I sat down and wrote one of my famous 'tell it how it is' letters that only I can write LOL. I brought up the money order again and demanded to know where it is and why it hasn't been applied to my account. I also called them down on saying that the reason they haven't answered any of my letters in the past year is because they said I sent them a cease and desist. Which I DID NOT! and have a copy of every letter sent and no where will you find that I did. So I told them that was BS. And then I went on questioning why I would get a nice letter thanking me one day, and telling me to contact their collection department to set up a plan because they would work with me....and then turn right around and send it to a collection agency?????? I wrote this letter on May 1, 2006.
I had national action on my freedom point consolidation plan. Freedom point informed me today that the account has been sent back to wells fargo. When they sent my payment to national action, they told them that they no longer have the account and the original creditor has it again.
I would like to think my letter is what did it.
Freedom said that national action took the payment check but didn't cash it and still hasn't cashed it. Freedom says that national has to send the check over to wells fargo.
I am alittle irritated about that, because this is the very way I got screwed over on that $50 money order that is still missing. I sent it to a collection agency and they no longer had the account but didn't post it or send it over to wells fargo.
should I write wells fargo and tell them that national has their payment? or write national and tell them to send the payment over to wells fargo?? or stay out of it and just let freedom deal with it??? I don't want to get screwed out of another $50, I'm still fighting over the first $50. thanks!! shirley

Aside for the payday lenders, Wells Fargo has to be the flakiest company in the country. I still remember how jacked up all their collections accounts were. Somebody in their accounts recievables department really needs to get sacked. Just look at how many accounts are completely out of line!

You may want to insist on a single point of contact with Wells Fargo until this is resolved. Cite past communications breakdowns. At least this way you would have a specific person who knows whats happening from one day to the next.

Jeez Shirley....just when I thought it couldn't get any more confusing. I would go with Clay's recommendation to try and have a single contact, instead of going back and forth between the two (or actually three, including Freedom Point). I wonder what REALLY happened with that money order...where did you get it from? The Post Office? Western Union? I wonder if you can contact the place where you purchased the money order and "track" it, so to speak. I wish I had more to offer here :(

Are you sure that it was cashed?? You might be able to argue that, since you did honestly purchase it, they are at fault for not cashing it/or not crediting it to your account...I just don't know what to think of this situation sometimes!!!!
