What state are you in? NEVER admit to owing a debt over the phone. Unless you receive a letter of collection in the mail from these people don't speak to them again on the telephone, remind them they are required by federal law (FDCPA) to send you a letter of collection in the mail within 5 days of thier first initial contact with you.
